Lyrical Grammar

"Baby, you're all that I want when you're lying here in my arms. I'm finding it hard to believe; we're in heaven." Every time I hear this, all I can think is that I sure hope this lyricist understood grammar well enough to use that semi-colon between "believe" and "we're." Otherwise, I feel like it's sending a very mixed message.
